Lisa and Jeff got married on October 3, 2009, and we are very happy for them.

Anna is one!

Anna Kester turned one on September 1st soon after she learned she was going to be a big sister!  She walked before her first birthday and is saying lots of words.

Anne, John, MK and Anna went to Edgefield on February 28th and got to see Aunt Eda and Cousin Joe. Good time for us all.

Mottern Update!

I have never written to a blog so hopefully I am doing this right! 2009 has started off very busy for us! First off, we got our new puppy Lady! She just turned 8 weeks old, is extremely healthy, active, smart and CUTE! Raising a puppy is definitely more work than I anticipated, but we figured this was perfect timing while I am in between jobs and have plenty of time for her, and it is good parenting practice for both of us!

We also took a trip to Costa Rica with a couple we have become friends with in Sarasota. We did some sport deep sea fishing (a first for both of us) I caught a snapper and a Dorado or Mahi Mahi (both delicious!) Rick caught his first blue Marlin (225 lbs) which he was very excited about, it took him about an hour to bring it in. We also did horseback riding on the beach and the ziplining through the trees, so much fun!

After Costa Rica I had my annual trip to Breckenridge to visit Hyatt, Marissa met me out there and we had a blast, perfect skiing weather! Now we are back to the real world enjoying being home and with our puppy! I have decided to get my teaching certificate and try to get a full time teaching job at Elementary level. I am just now working on the applications, so will keep posted on what goes on with that. Rick is still doing great with his new agency, he qualified for the travel incentive trip which is to Hawaii this year, he had a great first year and we are hoping for an even better second one! We miss you all and hope this website will be a good way to stay better in touch! love, Em

Kester Family Update: Anna's Baptism

Anna was baptized on January 11 at Christ Church (the same place Ross and I, and Emily and Cody, got married!) She was the only baby that cried, but it was still very sweet. She wore the same dress that Ross's mom wore when she was baptized in England when she was a baby. It was hand made by Sandy's aunt. Here are some pics of sweet Anna on her big day.
